FAQs

Where is The Land? How do I get there?

The Land is at 18501 Van Zandt Resort Road, Philo, California 95466. It’s about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco or 1.5 hours north of Santa Rosa. We’ve been told that you can fly into San Francisco or Santa Rosa. Rent a shuttle or a car to get from the airport to The Land.

Where will I be sleeping? What are accommodations like?

You will be sleeping in Houses or Cabins. The cabins exhibit rustic elements with transitional design elements of modernism and industrial interiors. Most cabins hold 2, 3, 4, or 5 people. One cabin holds 8 people. The houses were constructed in the late 20th century using the finest hand-crafted materials and techniques native to Mendocino County. Houses hold 1, 3, 5, or 11 people. One bed per person. House cleaning service is every 7 days. All bedding and linens are provided. You can, of course, bring your favorite pillows if you like! Each cabin or house has at least 1 full bathroom.
Private suites are rooms where you can have the privacy of your own space behind a closed door. These rooms are either in one of our houses or a wilderness cabin. Shared bath. Only 6 suites available.
Shared rooms include multiple beds. Most are in our wilderness cabins and include queen or full-sized beds. Shared bath.

There is also an option for part-time camping! Bring your own tent. Have access to the outdoor bathroom and shower house. Camping is only allowed in the 2nd module, not the 1st module. In the 1st module, you stay in shared accommodations in a house or cabin. In the 2nd module, you live in your tent every night for all 12 nights. This is the most affordable option and great for those of you who enjoy camping. Camping Part-Time tuition covers your shared room in a cabin/house in the 1st module and camping in the 2nd module.

Is there on-site laundry?

No. There isn’t laundry service at The Land. We are working on getting a laundry service to pick up your clothes every 4 days and wash them for an affordable fee. You will go through at least 2 yoga outfits per day. We recommend that you bring at least 10 different yoga outfits with you. You will need to have your clothes laundered as the yoga practices are sweaty! Bring yoga outfits that you don’t mind being dried in a machine dryer. We’ll let you know the fee well before you arrive.

Can you clarify the different specials and tuition rates?

We are offering you two different 30-Day Limited Specials that expire on July 30, 2017.

The 1st Special, the SUPER Early Bird rate, is the lowest tuition rate possible. The tuition price is $600 lower than the Regular rate and $100 lower than the Early Bird rate! Expires July 30, 2017.

The 2nd Special, the Early Bird Lock-In, is good for those who want the Early Bird rate but can’t pay it in full now. To qualify for the Early Bird, pay a non-refundable $300 deposit by July 30th. The benefit of taking advantage of this special is that you reserve your spot AND get more time than the standard Early Bird due date to pay off your balance. Your due date to pay off the balance is one month prior to the training (as opposed to two months prior) or when the training sells out, whichever comes first.

Tuition Summary:
Camping Part-Time: Super Early Bird $5299 / Early Bird $5399 / Regular $5899
Shared: Super Early Bird $5699 / Early Bird $5799 / Regular $6299
Suite: Super Early Bird $6499 / Early Bird $6599 / Regular $6999

Early Bird expires February 19, 2017. However, if you participate in the 2nd Special (Early Bird Lock-In with $300 deposit), then the Early Bird expires March 19, 2017 or when the training sells out, which ever comes first.

What does tuition cover?

Residential tuition covers BOTH modules, all manuals from both modules, all morning ceremony and intensives, all afternoon training sessions, lodging, amenities, all meals.
It doesn’t cover travel costs, laundry, Anatomy Course, an extra night’s stay on the last day of the training (i.e., the night of May 1st and August 28th). The estimated cost for the Anatomy Course is $375. You can choose to take the Anatomy Course online or in-person.

Is there wifi and cell phone service?

There is cell phone service at The Land, but it can be spotty. The Land also has wireless Internet available in designated areas at no charge. There is generally wireless Internet available in the cabins and houses, but not the camping grounds.

Can I get a refund or a credit if I need to cancel?

The Forrest Yoga Organization’s policy is no refunds, no credits, no exceptions.

What is the application process?

Once you pay, you will receive an email containing a link to the application (check your spam folder). If you cannot fill out the application at that time, then bookmark the page for later. If you aren’t accepted into the training, then you will be refunded in full.

I have a roommate preference. Can I choose my roommates?

We understand that some of you have friends who are also taking the training and that you’d like to room with them. The answer is – most likely, yes. While we cannot guarantee it, you have a better chance of being able to room with each other, the sooner you register. When you fill out the registration form, answer the roommate preference question to inform us of your preference.

I have a question that I can’t find the answer to.
